Fleet

The CQUniversity Vehicle Fleet is managed by Facilities Management and includes:

  • Pool Vehicles, and
  • Faculty and Directorate Vehicles

General

Traffic Accident

All accidents must be reported to Facilities Management on x2324 and the Risk Management and Insurance Office on x9223 or x9868. Please direct all insurance enquiries to the Risk Management and Insurance Office.

For all incidents in relation to university vehicles, the driver will be required to provide a driver's statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the incident.  In order to ensure that you have all the necessary information please follow the below procedures:

  • Stop and exchange name and address details with all other parties involved;
  • Record the registration number, make and model of any other vehicle and drivers licence number of all other drivers involved;
  • Note damage to other vehicle and if possible, take photographs;
  • Ensure that the exact location of the accident is noted, together with times, dates and conditions of road;
  • Record names and addresses of as many witnesses as possible at the scene of the accident;
  • Report accident to Police if required to do so by State Motor Traffic Law or By-Law and where Police are in attendance, obtain the Officers number and station.

In case of emergency please contact CQUniversity Security on 0418 792 982 (Ext 1331). Security staff will notify the Fleet Administrator.

CQUniversity Pool Vehicles

The Vehicle Pool is available for use by university staff for business purposes. Permit to Drive forms are availalble from Faculty Administrators and must be submitted (with costing and authorised signature) at the time of collection. Fleet vehicles are currently charged at 75 cents per kilometre (effective 1st June 2008). It is mandatory that pool vehicles are returned to the vehicle compound. Vehicles must be clean, refuelled and returned by the time specified on the permit to drive form. Logbooks must be completed to show the entire trip details.

Traffic infringements are the responsibility of the driver.

The Division of Facilities Management may impose a service charge or restrict further use if these requirements are not met.

Fleet Bookings

Bookings for pool vehicles are made by contacting the Facilities Assistance Centre on ext 9241 or via email Facilities Assistance Centre. If making bookings via email please ensure that the following details are provided:

  • Date and Time of collection and return;
  • Destination
  • Vehicle type preference (Sedan, Wagon or Ute)
  • Name of Drivers
  • Contact details

Vehicle Key and Log Book Collection

All keys for CQUniversity Pool Vehicles are available for collection from the Facilities Assistance Centre, Building 37 Ground Floor, between the hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm.

Key and Log Book Returns

Between the hours of 7:00am - 5:00pm, keys are to be returned to Facilities Assistance Centre. For after hours returns, please place the keys in the Black After Hours Return Chute located at the front ramp enterance of the Security Building - Building 3. Please ensure that keys, log book and fuel card are returned and that the log book is completed. Vehicles must be refuelled (as per CQUniversity Vehicle Policy).

Salary Vehicles

Salary package vehicles are managed by Financial Services Division. Please direct all Salary Package enquiries to David Turner on x 9877.
