Records Management

Who we are

The Records Management team is part of the Governance Directorate in the Corporate Governance Division.

What we do

The Records Management team are responsible for coordinating the efficient and effective management of corporate information throughout the University. We are also responsible for managing the corporate electronic records management system (TRIM), providing training in the use of TRIM, and also basic recordkeeping training.

Training for TRIM users can be conducted in groups in the training rooms. We can also provide one-to-one training at your workstation. Our aim is to assist all CQUniversity staff members to become expert record keepers.

Why we do what we do

Statutory authorities, including universities, must comply with all current legislation and regulations in relation to record keeping in the corporate environment. As a statutory authority, CQUniversity is subject to the Public Records Act 2002, as well as other State and Commonwealth legislation.

Retention and Disposal schedules have been developed in consultation with industry and the Queensland State Archives. The Queensland State Archives website also offers some online Records training tools.
