Informatics Planners

The following planners are to be used as a guide when enrolling in courses via CQUCentral. Please note that these are recommended programs of study for full-time students who will generally study four courses per term.  It is possible to vary the sequence in which you completed these courses, provided that you ensure you completed all courses required for your degree.

If you intend to study part-time, you should select 1-2 courses per term in your first year. In selecting these courses, please note that:

  • The Faculty has no requirements for the number of courses that you study each term - this is your decision based upon the time that you have available to commit to your study. As a guide, we suggest that you assume that each course will involve on average 8-12 hours of study a week for an undergraduate student;

  • In selecting specific courses, the Faculty recommends that you select courses in your first term that you feel most comfortable with.

Students who commenced study before 2012

The Faculty of Arts, Business, Informatics and Education is committed to continually updating its programs to ensure students receive the best possible educational experience and are equipped with highly desirable skills in the current employment market of their chosen profession. Therefore, throughout 2011 the Faculty continued work on reviewing and designing programs that best fit the dynamic business world. As part of this continual improvement process, the Faculty will introduce further changes to its undergraduate information systems and information technology programs. These changes come into effect from the start of the 2012 Academic Year (Term 1). If possible students should look to completing their program under the new structure depending on how courses completed to date fit into the new structure. Howevever students will be able to complete their program of study under the degree rules in which they commenced their studies. In some cases, individual courses offered prior to 2012 will no longer be available for study and allowable substitute courses have been provided.

Please review the program planners on this page for an overview of how the changes effect your program of study.
