Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (the musical) is based on the 1988 film of the same name, which starred Steve Martin and Michael Caine. Set in modern times, this is a riotous comedy about two con artists who ply their trade on the French Riviera. Their escapades make for a great night of entertainment. This production will be directed and choreographed by Dale Pengelly who directed the 2009 CQCM production of Cabaret.
This engaging theatre event is especially aimed at young audiences from pre-school to grade two. The show informs children about the benefits of healthy eating. The larger-than-life characters learn about eating the right foods to make them healthy and strong, singing and dancing their way through a story set in a circus tent.
Goodie and Sweetie arrive at the beach with a basket of food for lunch, but something else has caught their attention. The smell of fried fish fingers wafts over the pair as the wicked Captain Cook (complete with fry-pan hand) tries to lure them onto his ship, the Bad Ship Lollipop. He successfully captures Sweetie, leaving Goodie alone to rescue her sister. With the help of her Mighty Foods, a banana, a carrot and some nuts Goodie sets out to save Sweetie … but will she make it?
